Suspect Description and Appeal

Investigators are searching for a male suspect described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build, last seen wearing a dark hoodie and jeans. He fled the scene on foot before police arrived.

“We believe this was not a random act,” said Detective Sergeant Julie Leblanc of the Gatineau Police Service. “We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time or who has dashcam footage to contact us immediately.”

Police have not released a motive but are exploring possible connections to organized crime or a personal dispute.

Community Response

The shooting has shaken the local community. Main Street businesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, and some residents expressed concern about safety in the area.

“It’s unsettling to have something like this happen so close to home,” said local shop owner Marie Duval. “I hope they catch the person responsible quickly.”

Gatineau Mayor France Bélisle offered condolences to the victim’s family and assured the public that the city is cooperating fully with the investigation.

“We stand with the family and friends of Marc Tremblay during this difficult time,” Bélisle said in a statement. “Violence has no place in our community, and we are committed to ensuring justice is served.”
