AgEx 2025 Success Paves Way for 2026 Calgary Conference

The 2025 Agricultural Excellence Conference (AgEx), held from November 18 to 20 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, successfully gathered nearly 200 thought leaders, innovators, farmers, and aspiring farmers from across Canada. The three-day event, themed Gaining Ground, focused on strengthening farm business foundations, embracing innovation, and building resilience in the evolving agricultural landscape.

Highlights from AgEx 2025

The conference delivered dynamic discussions, actionable insights, and meaningful connections, reinforcing its position as Canada's premier event for farm management excellence. Key highlights included a Young Farmer Reception at the Assiniboine Park Zoo's Arctic exhibit, offering a unique networking experience alongside polar bears and seals. The FCC Young Farmer Summit, held concurrently, welcomed an additional 200 young and future farmers to explore business planning, transition strategies, economics, and mental wellness with experts like Dr. Tom Deans, Leigh Anderson, Cynthia Beck, and Taylor Phillips.

Farm tour experiences took attendees to the University of Manitoba's Glenlea Research Station and EMILI Innovation Farms, providing firsthand exposure to cutting-edge research and technology. The Mix 'n' Mingle Banquet featured global cuisine and vibrant networking, where Brad Barton received the 2025 Wilson Loree Award. Over 30 speakers led learning sessions covering proactive risk management, financial resilience, farm transition challenges, and national resource sharing. The Farm Risk Challenge, an interactive game, allowed participants to test strategic decision-making skills in a fun, competitive environment.

Announcing AgEx 2026 in Calgary

Building on this momentum, Farm Management Canada has announced AgEx 2026, scheduled for November 17 to 19 in Calgary, Alberta. The theme, Growing Leaders, Strengthening Legacies, will explore leadership development, transition planning, and purpose-driven decision-making to empower farm businesses for generations.
