Jim Davidson: Integrity and Consistency
Jim Davidson, co-founder of FirstEnergy Capital Corp., stressed that integrity and consistency are essential for building trust with clients and maintaining relationships. He noted that these qualities have been pivotal in his career, helping him retain clients and foster lasting connections. Davidson also emphasized the importance of consistent engagement with clients, which he believes can take a business far.
Avi Amir: Passion and Belief
Avi Amir, founder of Homes by Avi, advised that passion for one's work is the number one factor for success. He stated that doing what you like leads to doing it well, and that belief in your work is crucial for perseverance. Amir's company has built over 25,000 homes and expanded into various real estate sectors, demonstrating the power of passion-driven business.
Martha Billes: Attitude and Perseverance
Martha Billes, a member of the Canadian Tire founding family, highlighted that perseverance stems from attitude, and both must work together. She joined Canadian Tire's board in 1980, a time when women were rare in corporate leadership, and later became the controlling shareholder. Billes also co-founded Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, showing how perseverance can lead to philanthropic impact.
Stanley Owerko: Building a Legacy
Stanley Owerko founded Petrogas Energy Corp. in 1986, focusing on wholesale distribution of natural gas liquids. His journey underscores the importance of dedication and strategic vision in building a successful enterprise.
