Fitzmaurice pointed to a significant announcement at the second annual Web Summit, where U.S.-based Nutanix revealed it was expanding significantly into Vancouver. "Vancouver is where we are building our centre of excellence for Nutanix Agentic AI, and we are making a long-term commitment to the region and to the talent here," she explained. "It's confirmation the Invest Vancouver 'Invest Talent' initiative is working. Working with industry, we set out to accelerate training, scale, attract investment, and innovate and it's working."
Vancouver's Growing Tech Ecosystem
According to Invest Vancouver, the region serves as the western Canadian anchor for critical infrastructure and cyber-relevant secure digital capability. It is also a major hub for tech giants such as Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Fortinet, MDA, and the new RBC innovation hub, which collaborates with Borealis AI and Cybersecurity R&D facilities.
