Greif Commits to Science Based Targets Initiative and Releases Sustainability Report

DELAWARE, Ohio, April 22, 2026 – Greif, Inc. (NYSE: GEF, GEF.B), a global leader in industrial packaging products and services, has announced a major commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), reinforcing its long-standing dedication to climate action and emissions reduction. Simultaneously, the company has released its 17th annual Sustainability Report, which comprehensively details progress made in 2025 toward advancing responsible business practices and creating long-term value.

Advancing Toward Science-Based Net-Zero Targets

Through its commitment to the SBTi, Greif will develop science-based near-term and long-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets. These targets will include Scope 3 value chain emissions reductions, aligning with the SBTi Net-Zero Standard. Once finalized, the company plans to submit these targets to the SBTi for independent validation, with an announcement expected following the completion of the review process.

This commitment builds upon a climate program that has been deeply embedded across Greif's operations and extended throughout its value chain. It represents the fifth generation of climate targets established by the company since 2007. Over nearly two decades, Greif has consistently met its prior targets, demonstrating a strong track record of disciplined execution, transparency, and accountability in managing its environmental impact.
