Grimes Takes on Homelessness with Political Hopeful

In the song, shared across Grimes' social media channels including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, she asks Mahan: 'Thirty per cent on homelessness is big progress. Do you want to make a song about it?'

Mahan, who admits he has 'no musical talent whatsoever,' warns Grimes about his lack of skills. Nevertheless, the duo proceeded with the recording.

The 'Artificial Angels' singer became interested in Mahan's policies and sought a meeting with him, according to a source close to Grimes. 'For some time, she’s been concerned about where tech is headed. But she’s been disappointed by politicians who hate tech, but don’t understand it,' the source told Page Six. 'She jumped into making a song for the race because she was so happy to see a Democrat candidate who understood tech, including the problems within Silicon Valley. To top it off, she was impressed with how good he was in the studio.'

The meeting and studio session with Mahan came together over the past few weeks, the outlet reported.
