Vehicle Crashes Into Building in Brantford, Injuring Driver and Woman Inside
Brantford Police are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a building on Monday, injuring the driver and a woman who was inside the structure. The incident occurred in the area of Clarence Street and Brant Avenue around 2:30 p.m.
Emergency services responded to the scene and found a car had struck the front of a commercial building. The driver, a 34-year-old man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 28-year-old woman inside the building also suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Police say the cause of the crash is under investigation, but initial reports suggest it may have been accidental. No charges have been laid at this time. The building sustained structural damage and was temporarily closed for safety inspections.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash and seeing the vehicle plow into the storefront. Traffic in the area was diverted for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene and assess the damage.
Brantford Police urge anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them. The investigation is ongoing.
