A Calgary man has been charged with stealing approximately $46,000 worth of equipment from a construction site in southeast Calgary, according to police. The incident occurred at a worksite in the community of Seton, where various tools and machinery were reported missing.
Calgary Police Service officers responded to the theft report and launched an investigation. Through surveillance footage and witness statements, authorities identified a suspect. The stolen equipment included power tools, generators, and other construction materials.
Police executed a search warrant at a residence in the city and recovered a significant portion of the stolen items. The suspect was arrested without incident and now faces charges of theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
Court appearance
The accused appeared in court on Tuesday and was released on conditions pending a future court date. Police remind construction companies to secure their equipment and report any suspicious activity immediately.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to return the recovered equipment to its rightful owners.
