Driver Charged After Minivan Hits Parked Cars, Tree

A 38-year-old woman has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm after a minivan struck two parked vehicles and a tree on Monday afternoon in Windsor's east side, according to police.

The collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Jefferson Boulevard. Police say the minivan was traveling southbound when it hit two parked vehicles, mounted the sidewalk, and crashed into a tree, narrowly missing a fire hydrant. The minivan sustained significant front-end damage.

A passenger in the minivan was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The two parked vehicles, which were unoccupied at the time, also sustained heavy damage. No other injuries were reported.

Police closed Jefferson Boulevard between Coronation and Lassaline avenues for several hours while processing the scene.
