During the stop, officers observed suspicious behavior and detected an odor of cannabis emanating from the vehicle. A subsequent search led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine, along with other controlled substances.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is around $150,000. The driver, a 34-year-old man from Toronto, and a passenger, a 29-year-old woman from North Bay, were both taken into custody.

Charges Laid

Both individuals face multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of a controlled substance. The driver also faces charges related to driving while under suspension.

They were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay.
