Cartier Resources Announces Significant Gold Discovery at Cadillac Project in Quebec
VAL-D'OR, Quebec – Cartier Resources Inc. (TSXV: ECR; FSE: 6CA) has revealed exciting new drill results from its ongoing 100,000-meter drilling program at the Cadillac Project, located in the prolific Abitibi region of Quebec. The company announced the discovery of a new shallow high-grade gold zone in the Portal Sector, specifically within the North Simon Zone (NSZ), which it owns 100%.
Exceptional Drill Results Highlight New Gold Zone
The ninth batch of results from Cartier's aggressive drilling campaign has delivered impressive numbers that are capturing investor attention. The most notable intercept comes from drill hole CA26-314, which intersected 7.1 grams per tonne of gold over 8.0 meters, including an exceptional interval of 38.8 g/t Au over 1.0 meter. Visible gold was observed in the drill core at various intervals, adding confidence to the assay results.
Additional significant results include:
- CA26-325 graded 6.8 g/t Au over 2.2 meters in the NS Zone
- CA26-308 reported 3.3 g/t Au over 4.2 meters in the 5C5 Zone
These findings confirm the presence of a newly recognized high-grade gold zone near surface, with mineralization extending over 200 meters in strike length and remaining open in all directions. Based on observed intercept angles, true thicknesses are estimated to represent approximately 50-90% of the reported core length intervals.
Strategic Significance and Exploration Potential
The discovery holds particular strategic importance due to its location just 150 meters east of a historical ramp. This proximity to existing infrastructure provides significant logistical advantages that could enhance development flexibility and improve project economics.
Ronan Deroff, Vice President of Exploration at Cartier, expressed enthusiasm about the findings: "These results from the Portal Sector are particularly exciting as they confirm the presence of a fourth gold sector with strong exploration potential. Benefiting from existing road access and historical infrastructure, this new sector has the potential for resource growth while being strategically located with respect to the Main Sector."
Deroff added that the discovery "could significantly enhance the value of the project and provide additional flexibility as we continue to advance and expand the overall development opportunities."
Forward-Looking Exploration Plans
Cartier Resources has outlined an ambitious exploration roadmap following these promising results:
- Expansion drilling to refine the geological model, verify mineralization continuity, and determine gold enrichment vectors
- Additional exploration drilling to test several new high-priority regional targets along strike of the Portal Sector and the Cadillac Fault Zone
- Utilization of detailed structural and geological modelling combined with VRIFY's artificial intelligence (AI) driven targeting to optimize exploration efficiency
The Cadillac Project continues to demonstrate its potential as a significant gold asset in one of Canada's most established mining jurisdictions. With these latest results confirming a new shallow high-grade zone, Cartier Resources appears well-positioned to advance this promising discovery through systematic exploration and development.
