DP World Opens Major 117,000-Sq-Ft Warehouse in Querétaro for Nearshoring
DP World Opens New Warehouse in Mexico for Nearshoring Boom

Global logistics giant DP World has significantly expanded its operations in Mexico with the opening of a major new multi-customer warehouse in the central state of Querétaro. The move is a direct response to the accelerating nearshoring boom, as manufacturers increasingly relocate production from Asia to North America.

Strategic Expansion in a Key Manufacturing Hub

The new facility, which opened on December 4, 2025, is located in the La Bomba Industrial Park in El Marqués. Spanning 117,000 square feet (10,869 square meters), it marks DP World's first multi-customer warehouse in the Bajío region, a critical industrial hub for automotive, industrial, and technology supply chains.

Glen Clark, CEO of DP World in the U.S. and Mexico, emphasized the strategic importance of the location. "Querétaro is one of the most important manufacturing hubs in Mexico," Clark stated. "Our new facility strengthens our ability to support customers who are expanding or relocating production to the region." The site offers direct access to Highway 57 and proximity to Querétaro Intercontinental Airport, positioning it as an ideal node for regional distribution and cross-border trade flows.

Enhanced 3PL Capabilities for Modern Supply Chains

The warehouse is designed to offer comprehensive third-party logistics (3PL) services, moving beyond simple storage to provide integrated, end-to-end solutions. According to Clark, companies driving the nearshoring trend demand solutions that improve speed, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

The facility's advanced features and services include:

  • A storage mix of 70% racked and 30% floor space, with 6,168 total pallet positions.
  • Scalable pallet-handling capacity and an expected weekly throughput of 17–20 forty-foot equivalent units (FEUs).
  • Full-service offerings like B2B warehousing, inventory management, kitting, labeling, repacking, and returns processing.
  • Advanced infrastructure with a modern warehouse management system for cargo visibility, 24/7 security, and energy-efficient LED lighting.

Building a Continental Logistics Network

The Querétaro opening is part of DP World's broader strategy to build an integrated North American logistics network. It follows the launch of a new freight forwarding office in Mexico City earlier in 2025 and complements recent expansions in Miami, Toronto, and several Brazilian cities.

With this new facility, DP World now employs nearly 800 supply chain professionals across Mexico. The investment underscores the company's commitment to scaling its national footprint to capture growth from the structural shift in global trade patterns, as businesses seek more resilient and geographically proximate supply chains.

The new warehouse not only provides critical capacity but also acts as a strategic link, enhancing DP World's ability to connect manufacturing in central Mexico to consumer markets across the continent.
