Shane Young, a Winnipeg resident, was driving west of Kenora on June 2, 2026, when he witnessed a horrific crash. Young said he was approximately 100 yards behind a semi-truck when a car collided with it. 'I almost missed that,' he recounted, describing the sudden and violent impact. The collision occurred on a stretch of highway, and Young immediately pulled over to offer assistance. Emergency services arrived shortly after, and the highway was closed for several hours as investigators worked at the scene. The driver of the car was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Young, still shaken, expressed relief that he was not closer to the incident. 'It could have been much worse,' he said. The cause of the crash is under investigation by local police.
