In Calgary's southwest, where rolling pathways meet mountain-inspired streetscapes, a new lottery show home is turning heads not only for its design, but also for what it represents.
The 2026 Children's Hospital Lottery Dream Home, unveiled by the Kinsmen Club of the Stampede City in support of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation and built by Homes by Avi, is more than a showcase of elevated living. It is a tangible expression of community generosity, one ticket at a time.
A Partnership with Purpose
"Supporting the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation is an important part of how we show up in our community," says Vared Amir, vice-president of Brand Leadership at Homes by Avi, noting that this is the 15th year Homes by Avi has partnered with the lottery. "Being part of this initiative allows us to see the direct impact of that support. It reflects the kind of communities we're committed to building and the role we believe we can play beyond the homes themselves."
For more than three decades, the lottery has helped shape pediatric care across southern Alberta, raising more than $30 million to fund everything from the new Children's Hospital to groundbreaking research and life-saving equipment.
Funding Critical Equipment
This year, proceeds will support the purchase of critical equipment, including Vein Viewers — innovative devices that use near-infrared light technology to map veins directly onto the skin in real time, allowing clinicians to start IVs more quickly with less pain and anxiety for youngsters.
"We take care of some of the sickest kids in Alberta in the Emergency Department — it's a huge honour, but also a huge responsibility," says Dr. Tania Principi, section chief pediatric emergency medicine. "Having the best equipment allows us to provide the best possible care for children when they need us most. Knowing our community supports us through the Children's Hospital Lottery truly means everything to our team."
The Dream Home Design
Valued at nearly $1.5 million, this stunning home, the Van Dyke model, unfolds across nearly 3,800 square feet of thoughtfully designed space in the community of Sirocco at Pine Creek. With six bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and a fully developed lower level, it is a home designed as much for gathering as it is for retreat.
Step inside and the tone is immediately set — warm, moody and layered with intention.
"We decided to call the esthetic 'carefully curated,' " says Julie Punter, Homes by Avi's interior design manager, who led the design vision. "It's a warm-toned home with deep saturated hues, refined millwork and textured finishes. The idea was to blend a little bit of the old with the new — timeless eclectic pieces that make the home feel lived-in from the start."
That philosophy is evident in every detail. Vintage-inspired lighting glows against rich wall treatments. Floral wallpapers in muted burgundy and taupe soften transitions between rooms. A tin-style ceiling in the foyer painted in a deep, dramatic hue creates a sense of arrival.
At the heart of the home, a chef-inspired kitchen anchors the main floor with jewel-toned cabinetry, quartz countertops and a statement island designed for connection. Nearby, a tucked-away coffee station, complete with floating wood shelves in an English tea stain finish, adds both charm and practicality.
The exterior of the 2026 Children's Hospital Lottery Dream Home by Homes by Avi reflects the mountain-inspired streetscape of the community. The living room, kitchen, and primary bedroom all feature carefully curated design elements that blend vintage and modern aesthetics.
This year's grand prize home is not just a residence; it is a symbol of community support for pediatric healthcare. With every ticket sold, participants contribute to a legacy of care and innovation at the Alberta Children's Hospital.
