The Youth Singers of Calgary celebrated their 40th anniversary with a spectacular concert at the Jubilee Auditorium on Saturday night, featuring over 500 current and former members onstage. The event marked four decades of musical excellence and community engagement for the renowned youth organization.
A Night of Music and Memories
The concert brought together generations of singers who have been part of the Youth Singers since its founding in 1986. The audience was treated to a diverse repertoire that spanned classical pieces, contemporary hits, and original compositions. The performance highlighted the organization's growth from a small community choir to a nationally recognized ensemble.
Celebrating 40 Years of Impact
Founded by artistic director Tim Shantz, the Youth Singers have provided musical training and performance opportunities for thousands of young people. The anniversary concert served as a reunion for alumni who traveled from across Canada to participate. Many shared stories of how the program shaped their lives and careers.
The evening concluded with a moving rendition of the organization's signature song, 'We Are the Youth Singers,' performed by the full ensemble. Proceeds from the concert will support future programming and scholarships for underprivileged youth.
