Grey Cup Party Highlights a Busy Weekend in Regina
This weekend in Regina is packed with exciting events, from the Saskatchewan Roughriders' championship celebration to the annual Pride parade and a new classic car show. Here are five things you won't want to miss.
1. Grey Cup Party at Mosaic Stadium
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are hosting a championship-themed celebration at Mosaic Stadium on Saturday before their season opener against the B.C. Lions. The Grey Cup will make a special appearance, and the team will raise its 2025 championship banner. A flyover by the Canadian Armed Forces is also planned. Fans can go on the field for a post-game celebration.
New this year are two fan experiences: Riderland Park at Confederation Park (formerly Party in the Park) and a tailgating zone south of the Brandt Centre. The tailgating area opens five hours before kickoff and includes food, drinks, and a beer garden. While tailgating passes are sold out, all fans can walk through the area. 2. Friday Nights Classic Car Show
The Friday Nights Classic Car Show debuts in Regina at the Southland Mall parking lot from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (weather permitting). This free event, which started in Saskatoon in 2021, features hot rods, muscle cars, and restored antiques. No registration is needed to display a vehicle. The show runs weekly through September.
3. Pride Parade and Festival
The Queen City Pride Festival concludes on Saturday with the annual Pride parade starting at noon. The parade begins behind the Conexus Arts Centre, follows a new route on 23rd Avenue, turns north on Albert Street, crosses in front of the legislature, and ends behind the T.C. Douglas Building in Wascana Park. An afternoon festival, Out in the Park, follows in the meadow behind the MacKenzie Art Gallery, featuring live performances, a market, beer gardens, food trucks, and kids' entertainment.
4. Major Art Exhibition
