Saskatoon JazzFest returns this summer, bringing a vibrant mix of music, culture, and community engagement to the city. The festival, which runs from July 10 to 19, 2026, features over 50 performances at venues across Saskatoon, including the main stage in Kiwanis Memorial Park.
Lineup and Highlights
This year's lineup includes international headliners such as Grammy-winning saxophonist Kamasi Washington and Canadian jazz legend Diana Krall. Local talent is also well-represented, with performances by the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra and emerging artists from the province. The festival will showcase a range of genres, from traditional jazz to fusion, blues, and world music.
According to festival director Mark Turner, "We're thrilled to present a diverse program that reflects the rich musical landscape of Saskatoon and beyond. There's something for everyone, from free outdoor concerts to intimate club shows."
Community and Free Events
In keeping with its tradition, JazzFest offers several free events, including a family-friendly afternoon in the park on July 13, featuring workshops and interactive performances. The festival also partners with local businesses and restaurants to offer food and drink specials during the event.
"JazzFest is more than just music; it's a celebration of our community," said Turner. "We want everyone to feel welcome, whether they're lifelong jazz fans or new to the genre."
Economic and Cultural Impact
The festival is expected to draw over 30,000 attendees, generating an estimated $5 million in economic activity for the city. Hotels, restaurants, and retailers benefit from the influx of visitors, while the festival itself supports local artists and vendors.
"Saskatoon JazzFest is a cornerstone of our cultural calendar," said Mayor Cynthia Block. "It brings people together, showcases our city, and boosts our local economy. We're proud to support it."
Safety and Accessibility
Organizers have implemented enhanced safety measures, including increased security and accessible seating at all venues. The festival also offers discounted tickets for students and seniors, ensuring broad accessibility.
