Cameron Diaz and Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden have expanded their family once again. The couple announced the arrival of their third child, a baby boy named Nautus Madden, on Monday.
Benji Madden shared the joyful news on his Instagram account, posting an image of a pirate ship with the name "Nautas Madden" underneath. In the caption, he expressed the couple's happiness and gratitude. "Cameron and I are happy, excited, and feeling so BLESSED to announce the birth of our third child, Nautas Madden. Welcome to the world, son!!" he wrote. "We love life with our family — our kids are healthy & happy, and we are grateful!!! Having a blast. Sending all our best wishes — the Madden Family."
In addition to the ship drawing, Benji shared drawings of a red cardinal and a potted plant. The couple also has two other children: daughter Raddix Wildflower Madden, 6, and son Cardinal Madden, 2. Diaz and Madden have always prioritized keeping their children's lives private, rarely sharing photos or details on social media or in interviews.
Diaz on Motherhood Later in Life
While the couple does not often discuss their children publicly, Diaz has opened up about becoming a mother at an older age. In a March 2022 interview with BBC Radio 2's Michelle Visage, she said, "The women who have children my age are like, literally 20 years younger and that's an interesting place to be because I'm not that age. And that's totally OK. But I want to feel vital like that for my child."
In an October 2020 interview with Naomi Campbell, Diaz joked about the pressure of being an older parent. "When you're my age and you decide to do it, it's a real choice. You really have to work hard for it. The only pressure for me is like I have to live to be, like 107, you know? So no pressure!"
The Diaz-Madden family is known for their low-key lifestyle, focusing on their children's well-being away from the spotlight. With the arrival of Nautus, the family of five is sure to be filled with even more love and joy.
