The manner of death for Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets has been officially released. According to TMZ, the Mohave County Medical Examiner's Office in Arizona ruled the 67-year-old reality TV personality's death a suicide.
Details of the Incident
Police in Lake Havasu reported that Sheets' body was discovered at his home around 2 a.m. on April 22. The Lake Havasu City Police Department stated in a release obtained by Variety that upon arrival, officers found a male subject who had suffered what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and an active investigation into his death is ongoing.
Cyberbullying Allegations
Following the news of Sheets' death, his Storage Wars rival Rene Nezhoda publicly mourned his friend and claimed that Sheets had been a victim of cyberbullying. In an Instagram video, Nezhoda said, "He had this guy, like, really, really tormenting him lately and cyberbullying. I really hope (police) look into that guy and it's just not a pass." A police spokesperson confirmed to Page Six that they are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that they are part of the active investigation.
Son's Tribute
Last week, Sheets' son Brandon, who also appeared on the long-running A&E series, paid tribute to his father on social media. In an Instagram post, he wrote, "My heart is so broken … I love you Dad and I will do my best to live in your honor and respect our Family. Let's all continue to build those memories and keep the legacy that is 'Darrell (The Gambler) Sheets.'" He added, "I can't answer everyone's questions or concerns right now, I think we all just need time to process and remember all the good that my Father was and will continue to be through my Son and I. The love we all have for this man and all his kindness is only a small portion of who he truly is."
Storage Wars co-star Brandi Passante responded to Brandon's post, commenting, "I'm truly so sorry for the incredibly painful loss that you and your family have to endure. Sending you love and hugs from afar."
