Megan Thee Stallion is ready to embark on a hot girl summer as a single woman. The rapper took to social media to out her now-ex-boyfriend, Dallas Mavericks guard Klay Thompson, as a cheater.
"Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got 'cold feet,'" she wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories over the weekend. "Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season, now you don't know if you can be 'monogamous????'" she continued. "B**** I need a REAL break after this one… bye yall."
While the "Mamushi" rapper did not name the NBA star in the post, she and Thompson reportedly began dating last summer, making their red-carpet debut at a gala in July. Megan has since confirmed to People magazine that she and Thompson are done.
"I've made the decision to end my relationship with Klay," Megan said in a statement. "Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there's no real path forward." She added: "I'm taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity."
Social Media Cleanup and Cheating Rumors
Both have since scrubbed the other from their respective Instagram pages. Meanwhile, rumors were swirling on who exactly Thompson cheated with, and WNBA star Lexie Brown's name surfaced when one X user claimed the Seattle Storm player was sharing with her friends messages between herself and the NBA star, who claimed his romance with the "Sweetest Pie" rapper was "just for social media," Page Six reported.
Brown was quick to deny it. "I've seen what's being said online, and I want to be clear, none of it is true, and I have no involvement in this situation," she wrote on her Instagram Stories on Sunday. Brown added: "This week marks the start of an important and exciting new season for me, and my focus is fully on that."
Reactions from Influencers and Ex-Partners
Influencer Hasan Piker waded into the mix, calling out Thompson for his priorities and not locking in on a good thing while he had it. "Oh my god, that is a generational fumble. Are you f***ing serious?" Piker said in an Instagram video on Saturday. "Klay Thompson, this was the best thing that has happened to you in your damn life, dude. How is that possible? That's Megan Thee Stallion." He added: "This is more important. This is the one ring you should be paying attention to, not the motherf***ing NBA ring. That was the ring. How the f*** do you fumble Megan Thee Stallion, bro? That is crazy."
Megan was previously linked to Chicago Bulls star Torrey Craig in 2024, Belgian soccer player Romelu Lukaku in 2023 and to singer Pardison "Pardi" Fontaine in 2021. Soon after Megan and Thompson's split news surfaced, Fontaine shared a video of himself on Instagram singing Jagged Edge's 1999 track "He Can't Love U," prompting many fans to wonder if he wants his ex back. "You should never wanna be with a man if he can't be a man and do the things to you like I can," he said. "I'm telling you, he can't love you like I love you."
