Omarosa Manigault Newman has weighed in on the potential reboot of The Apprentice, and she believes Donald Trump Jr. is not the right choice to replace his father as host. Instead, she suggests Ivanka Trump would be a better fit.
Omarosa's Take on the Trump Family
In an interview with CNN's Erin Burnett, Manigault, a former Apprentice contestant who later served as a White House adviser under Donald Trump before becoming a critic, explained why she thinks Ivanka Trump is more suitable for the role.
"The reason 'The Apprentice' worked and it was so successful was because Donald Trump was a businessman who had all these different avenues, from his golf courses to his hotels," Manigault said. "What will Don Jr. talk about in terms of his business successes? Of course, he's worked for his father, but I don't know that he's had his own individual success."
In contrast, Manigault praised Ivanka Trump for having "a different level of charisma," "good business acumen," and being "really sharp in the boardroom." She concluded, "Between the two of them, I would choose Ivanka as the host if the show actually came back."
Trump's Lukewarm Response
Manigault and Burnett noted that President Donald Trump gave only a lukewarm response to reports that his eldest son might host the reboot, which Amazon is reportedly considering. They suggested he would be far more enthusiastic if Ivanka were chosen instead.
A Surprise Candidate: Ron DeSantis
Manigault also shared a "little-known fact" involving Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, whose term ends in January 2027. She claimed that during "a random conversation" at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, DeSantis told her he had once tried out for The Apprentice.
"He's going to be out of a job soon. Maybe he could be considered for host," she joked. Burnett responded, "Ron DeSantis, I wouldn't have had that on my bingo card," adding, "I don't think pretty much anybody knew that."
The interview aired on CNN's OutFront with Erin Burnett, where Manigault shared her insights on the show's potential return and the candidates for host.
