Seth Meyers Fact-Checks Trump's War Claims with Montage of His Own Words
Seth Meyers Exposes Trump's War Lies with Video Montage

During Thursday night's episode of "Late Night," host Seth Meyers took aim at President Donald Trump's recent claim that he didn't "guarantee no war" while on the campaign trail. The remark came during a "Meet the Press" interview, prompting Meyers to roll the tape.

Meyers Calls Out the Lie

"Yeah, saying you're the candidate of peace doesn't mean you're against war," Meyers quipped. "It's like if you're Kendrick Lamar's record producer, that doesn't mean you're against Drake." Instead of his usual tactic of throwing Trump's words back at him—which he does later—Meyers kept his rebuttal concise. "I hope you're sitting down for this because here's the truth," Meyers said. "Donald Trump lied. And he didn't just say it once or twice; he repeated that lie over and over again."

A Montage of Broken Promises

Meyers then aired a montage of clips showing Trump repeatedly stating there would be "no new wars" if he were elected. "You said it all the fucking time! 'No more wars' was basically your bazinga," Meyers exclaimed, comparing the phrase to a catchphrase.

Fox News Even Exasperated

Meyers also highlighted a segment from Fox News' "The Five," where conservative hosts appeared frustrated with Trump's claims that the U.S. was close to a deal to end the war in Iran. "The back and forth with Iran has been so exhausting that even Fox News is starting to get tired of all the BS," Meyers said.
