Tarlov Bullied by Fox Colleagues Over Trump Defense

Being a liberal on Fox News can be a lonely job. Jessica Tarlov discovered this firsthand on Wednesday during an episode of “The Five,” where she faced relentless bullying from her colleagues in a heated argument over President Donald Trump.

The tension began when Greg Gutfeld sparked the debate by saying, “I’m OK with you hating Trump. Why aren’t you OK with me liking him? If you could just look in the mirror and answer that question, liberals, you would feel so much better. Why does it bother you that people like Trump?”

Jesse Watters quickly joined in, asking Tarlov, “Do you have an answer to that, Jessica?” He later pressed her for a theory.

Tarlov responded, “Because he’s like a completely morally bankrupt person that’s imposing —” but was interrupted by Gutfeld, who asked, “But why should you care that I like him?”

She replied, “Well, care leads to voting. And then voting leads to bad policy that makes life harder.” When Gutfeld pressed further, she added, “If he were your friend, I’d be much more chill about it. But because you like him, he’s my president.”

Presumably, Tarlov meant that liking Trump translated into votes for him, and Gutfeld had more power to influence others to vote for Trump. Watters then escalated the confrontation by declaring, “You don’t care about morality.”

Tarlov snapped back, “Of course, we do.” But Watters insisted, “Your party doesn’t support standards of morality.” Tarlov’s stunned reaction only encouraged him.

“You can do drugs. You can be homeless. You can hit people, rape people, let other murderers into the country,” Watters said. Tarlov tried to object but was continually interrupted.

She noted that Republicans “got evangelicals to support a guy who’s cheated on every single wife he’s had.” At one point, she exploded when Gutfeld asked her again why she objects to people who like Trump.

“I said I don’t care. I have accepted it!” she yelled while shaking. Panelist Paul Mauro also joined the fray, but Dana Perino remained silent.

There was some levity when Tarlov and Gutfeld pointed fingers at each other, referencing Scott Jennings’ viral “get your fucking hand out of my face” threat to a guest on CNN’s “NewsNight.” Tarlov’s role as the conservative channel’s resident leftie has drawn scorn from Trump himself, who recently called her “one of the Least Attractive and Talented People on all of Television,” “so boring,” and claimed she made up unflattering poll numbers.
