A popular Windsor road has received a secondary street name, 'Lebanese Way,' at the intersection of Parent Avenue and Niagara Street. The new designation was unveiled on May 1, 2026, according to a report by Meagan Delaurier of AM800 News.
Community Honor
The secondary naming recognizes the significant contributions of the Lebanese community in Windsor. Local officials and community leaders gathered for the ceremony, celebrating the cultural heritage that has shaped the area.
City Approval Process
The addition of a secondary street name required approval from the city council, which supported the move as a way to highlight the diverse backgrounds of Windsor residents. Similar secondary names have been used in other parts of the city to honor various ethnic groups.
Residents and business owners along the affected stretch expressed support for the change, noting that it adds a sense of identity and pride to the neighborhood. The new signage is already in place, directing visitors to 'Lebanese Way' alongside the original street names.
