Windsor Light Music Theatre Presents Frozen Musical Opening May 1
Windsor Light Music Theatre's Frozen Opens May 1

Bring the whole family and prepare to be swept into a world of magic, dazzling choreography, and iconic songs as Windsor Light Music Theatre presents the Tony-nominated musical Frozen, the stage adaptation of Disney's 2013 animated film.

A Broadway-Calibre Production in Windsor

"Windsor has never seen theatre at this calibre," said assistant director Lucas Revenberg. "We're truly bringing Broadway to Windsor-Essex." He added, "Our cast has talent through the roof. Our rendition of Let It Go will leave the audience speechless. We have extravagant set pieces, elaborate costumes, and ball gowns. Even the technical aspects of the show really bring the Disney magic to life."

A 20-foot LED screen, projection mapping across the set, low fog, CO2 jets, and Sven and Olaf puppets from New York City will add to the "wow" factor during the theatre group's 149th major musical production.

The Story and Cast

The musical follows the story of Elsa, played by Regan White, who struggles to control her extraordinary powers, and her sister Anna, played by Ruby Dauphine, who sets out on an epic adventure to save their kingdom and mend their bond.

Twenty-six cast members, 23 pit crew members, and 12 orchestra members, all local volunteers, have been working on the show since May last year, with rehearsals starting in December. Kathy Roberts directs, with choreography by Tori-Lee Jenkins and musical direction by Nicholas Morvay.

Set Design and Technical Details

The set design is inspired by Nordic architecture, featuring a 20-foot ice bridge and a garden trellis with 5,000 plastic flowers, said Revenberg, who has worked behind the scenes over the last four years with Windsor Light Theatre. This is his first directing experience.

"I think the most impressive part about this production is every aspect of the show, whether it's the cast, the crew, the construction team, the paint team, we're all local volunteers," Revenberg said. "We're truly putting on something very professional for a volunteer and community level production. And I think it's so important that our local community supports arts in our area because magic like this only happens when people show up, take their seats and support the arts and live theatre."
