Carrousel of the Nations Returns

World village: Carrousel of the Nations is back this weekend from June 19-21. Hosted by the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County, the award-winning festival invites visitors to travel the world by exploring cultural villages throughout the region. Enjoy authentic cuisine, music, performances and exhibits celebrating the history of dozens of nations. Admission is free. Food and beverages available for purchase. Photography Debut at Art Gallery of Windsor

Through the lens: Local photographer Anthony Sheardown makes his solo gallery debut with Because I’m A Photographer, a three-day exhibition at the Art Gallery of Windsor. Inspired by the colourful, meticulously framed worlds of Wes Anderson, the show features 38 original photographs on display from June 18-20. Main reception runs Friday, June 19 from 5-11 p.m.

Ride the Cyclone Musical Premiere

Darkly delightful: Korda Artistic Productions brings the cult-hit musical Ride the Cyclone to the stage at the Kordazone Theatre (2520 Seminole St.). The story follows six teenagers whose lives are cut short in a roller-coaster accident before they find themselves in limbo, where a mechanical fortune teller offers one of them a chance to return to life. Blending comedy, music and heartfelt moments, the production marks Windsor’s premiere of the acclaimed Canadian musical. Performances run June 18-20. Tickets are $30 for general admission and $25 for students and seniors. Tickets available at the door.

2SLGBTQ+ History Exhibit in Amherstburg

Pride month: The Park House Museum in Amherstburg hosts the opening of We Were Always Here on Saturday, June 20. The new exhibit, at 214 Dalhousie St., celebrates the history and contributions of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community through a local historical lens. Additional workshops, lectures and special events to be announced.

Pro Wrestling: The Headbangers Ball

High-impact action: NCG Pro Wrestling brings The Headbangers Ball to the Event Centre at LaSalle Landing (970 Front Rd.) on Saturday, June 20 from 7-10 p.m. The high-energy night features former WWE tag team champions Mosh and Thrasher. Community Soccer Celebration

Goal side: Soccer fans of all ages are invited to a community celebration at City Hall Square on Friday, June 19 from 3-8 p.m. The free event will feature live international match broadcasts, food vendors, face painting, kids’ activities, giveaways and more. Catch USA vs. Australia at 3 p.m. followed by Scotland vs. Morocco at 8 p.m.

Free Fishing Weekend

Fishing fun: Ontario’s free fishing weekend returns June 20-21, offering locals a chance to fish without a licence as part of Father’s Day weekend. The province hosts several licence-free fishing periods each year, including Family Fishing Week from June 27 to July 5. A Windsor-Essex fishing guide is available for spots and access points across the region.
