Jeff Goldblum to Headline Ottawa Jazz Festival 2026

Ottawa's summer music scene is set to receive a major dose of star power and eclectic sound. The Ottawa Jazz Festival has unveiled its first wave of artists for the 2026 edition, with actor and musician Jeff Goldblum and his Mildred Snitzer Orchestra securing a top headline slot.

A Star-Studded Main Stage Lineup

The festival, which will transform Confederation Park from June 19 to June 28, 2026, promises a diverse musical journey. Joining Goldblum as main stage headliners are genre-defying alt-pop artist WILLOW and the acclaimed London-based Afrobeat ensemble KOKOROKO, known for their vibrant, horn-driven performances. The early roster is further strengthened by New Orleans brass powerhouse the Soul Rebels and Toronto's soul-pop collective the Free Label.

Jeff Goldblum, renowned for his roles in Jurassic Park and as the Wizard in the Wicked films, has cultivated a parallel career as a charismatic jazz performer. His orchestra is celebrated for its accessible takes on classic jazz and American Songbook standards, often interwoven with Goldblum's signature witty commentary. The group's latest album, Still Blooming, features notable collaborations with Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Scarlett Johansson.

An Expansive and Creative Musical Roster

Beyond the headliners, the festival's initial announcement reveals a deep and adventurous lineup designed to celebrate both tradition and innovation. Additional confirmed acts include legendary trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf, bassist Avishai Cohen, and the experimental group Big Vicious. The bill also highlights a strong representation of Canadian and contemporary jazz talent.

Other artists set to perform are the Dip, the Larnell Lewis Band featuring Joy Lapps, Myra Melford’s Fire & Water Quintet, Flore Laurentienne, Brandon Woody’s UPENDO, the Ostara Project, daltonists, the Charley Rose Trio, and the Stéphane Wrembel Quartet. The programming also includes Dálava, Norma Winstone with the Atlantic Jazz Collective, and the Plastic Waste Band, ensuring a wide spectrum of sonic experiences.

Tickets and Festival Vision

Festival passes and tickets will go on sale to the public on Thursday, January 15, at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The ticket structure offers several tiers to accommodate different audiences, including premium lounge access, spotlight seating, general admission, and discounted youth pricing for attendees aged 11 to 21.

Petr Cancura, the festival's Executive and Artistic Director, framed the event as a celebration of jazz's evolving landscape. He emphasized a commitment to honouring the music's rich traditions while actively showcasing its contemporary, creative frontiers. This year's eclectic blend of Hollywood glamour, pop innovation, and global rhythms perfectly embodies that vision. The festival has indicated that more artist announcements are expected in the coming weeks, building anticipation for the late-June event.
