Jimmy Kimmel gave President Donald Trump a brutal new nickname on Friday after it was revealed that the president would be attending at least one of the NBA Finals games in New York City next week.
Kimmel's Monologue
“There he is, Larry Turd with two hands on the ball,” Kimmel said, referring to an AI image Trump posted of him dunking over New York Gov. Kathy Hochul. “The president wants to be there in person to support his hometown team and, if necessary, to overturn the results of the game.”
He continued, “You’d think Trump would be rooting for the Spurs, right? It’s what got him out of Vietnam.” Trump, who is originally from New York City, revealed on Thursday that he would be attending the Knicks’ first appearance in the NBA Finals since 1999 at Madison Square Garden to cheer on his hometown team.
Trump's Plans
Trump described himself as a “big fan” of the Knicks and owner James Dolan, who invited him to the game. “The answer is yes — he’s invited me, I’m going,” Trump said of Dolan’s invitation. Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday that he plans to attend at least one of the Knicks home games next week, but didn’t rule out attending games on both Monday and Wednesday.
