Property Brothers Launch New Series 'Under Pressure' to Help Couples at Life Crossroads
Drew and Jonathan Scott, widely known as the Property Brothers, are set to premiere their latest HGTV series, Property Brothers: Under Pressure, in March 2026. The new show marks another innovative addition to their expansive real-estate television empire, which now encompasses 650 episodes across 11 different programs.
Addressing Real-Life Challenges Through Home Solutions
The series focuses on Los Angeles-based couples who find themselves at significant crossroads in their lives, requiring both emotional support and practical real estate guidance. In the premiere episode, empty-nesters A.J. and Carin, who lost their home in the devastating 2025 Eaton wildfire, seek assistance from the Scott brothers to find a new property that includes rental income opportunities after months of living in temporary accommodations.
Another compelling episode features a couple inheriting a home that the husband previously shared with his ex-wife, creating discomfort for his new spouse. Drew and Jonathan help them navigate the difficult decision of whether to keep the inherited property or start fresh elsewhere. A third episode highlights a couple struggling with budget constraints while attempting to build a new home that requires wheelchair ramps for their daughter, showcasing the brothers' ability to tackle diverse and heartfelt challenges.
Brotherly Bond and Competitive Spirit
During a recent Zoom interview from their Los Angeles homes, Drew and Jonathan addressed persistent rumors about potential sibling rivalry, sparked by online discussions questioning whether they secretly dislike each other. Drew laughed off the speculation, stating, "No, we get along just fine. Not to say we don't argue. But we started our first business when we were seven."
Jonathan promptly produced evidence of their early entrepreneurial spirit: a decorative coat hanger wrapped in colorful ribbon with an attached business card from "Jam Enterprises: We take care of your hangups." The twins, now 47, explained they created and sold these craft hangers door-to-door in their hometown of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, demonstrating their long history of successful collaboration. "For people who say family can't work together, we've been proving them wrong literally for 40 years," Jonathan emphasized.
Evolution of the Property Brothers Franchise
The Scott brothers' television journey began with their original series in 2011, which focused on helping couples find, purchase, and renovate their dream homes. This foundation expanded into numerous spinoffs, including Brother vs. Brother, which ran for eight seasons and pitted the twins against each other in competitive renovation projects. Other notable series include Backed by the Bros (2024), assisting inexperienced entrepreneurs with investment properties, and Celebrity IOU (2020), featuring celebrities like Brad Pitt surprising loved ones with major home renovations.
Jonathan expressed particular enthusiasm for their latest project, noting, "I think the casting of this show, Under Pressure, is better than anything we've ever seen. The stories are heartfelt and challenging. Everything is very different. The relationships within the families are very different from episode to episode."
Drew added that their competitive dynamic remains intact, saying, "On top of that, there's the whole air of Jonathan and me being a little competitive, like we love to be. Some of them have homes that they are considering whether to renovate, or they just want to drop that and move on, or some have inherited a home from family. Every story is different."
The brothers explained that in Under Pressure, they present multiple property options and renovation ideas to couples, creating engaging scenarios where homeowners must choose between their competing visions. "It's fun for us to see which of our ideas or which of our homes they decide to go for," Drew remarked, with Jonathan playfully challenging his brother's claim about having more successful picks with homeowners during filming.
As the Property Brothers continue to evolve their franchise, Property Brothers: Under Pressure promises to deliver both emotional depth and practical real estate solutions, maintaining their signature blend of brotherly chemistry and professional expertise that has captivated audiences for over a decade.
