Juno-winning Vancouver Punjabi singer Karan Aujla is set to launch his highly anticipated P-Pop Culture Tour in Vancouver. The tour kicks off on May 2 and 3 at Rogers Arena, marking the start of a cross-Canada journey. Aujla, who won the TikTok fan choice award at the Juno Awards in Halifax on March 24, 2024, has become one of the hottest rising stars in the global Punjabi pop scene.
Breakthrough and Success
After breaking into the mainstream with his 2023 release Making Memories, Aujla followed up with a cross-country tour that saw him playing arenas across Canada. He also made inroads into the United States with appearances on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. His latest album, P-Pop Culture, dropped last August to positive reception worldwide. The album had the highest debut for a Punjabi-language release in Canadian music history, logging in 12.4 million streams and counting.
Musical Style and Impact
Aujla's blending of traditional Punjabi beats, hip-hop production, and rap-sung lyrical flow has resonated strongly with fans of the South Asian pop genre. The P-Pop Culture title track video has amassed more than 18 million views in just four months. The cinematic clip makes a case for the artist to consider heading into the world of Indian films, potentially his next territory to conquer.
