St. Clair College Students Bring Matilda the Musical to Life in Windsor

St. Clair College Music Theatre Performance students are set to captivate audiences with their production of Matilda the Musical at the Chrysler Theatre in downtown Windsor. This vibrant stage adaptation brings to life the beloved story of Matilda Wormwood, a young girl with extraordinary intelligence and imagination, based on the classic children's book by British author Roald Dahl.

A Story of Courage and Imagination

The musical follows Matilda, a precocious child with neglectful parents, as she navigates a school run by the tyrannical headmistress Miss Trunchbull. Through her journey, Matilda discovers telekinetic powers, learns to embrace her uniqueness, and finds the strength to change her destiny. The production highlights themes of resilience, the importance of chosen family, and the magic within each individual.

"This exciting performance celebrates courage, imagination, and the power of standing up for what’s right," said Kristyn Wiklanski, music theatre performance program coordinator at St. Clair College. "From the hilarious antics of Matilda’s parents to the larger-than-life presence of the fearsome Miss Trunchbull, the production showcases the exceptional training and artistry of emerging performers."
