A baby koala is making its debut at the Palm Beach Zoo Conservation Society in West Palm Beach, Florida, nestled safely in its mother's pouch. The zoo recently opened a new Outback habitat, and the joey is already drawing crowds eager to catch a glimpse of the tiny marsupial.

The Outback habitat, which mimics the Australian landscape, is home to several species native to the continent. The baby koala, born to mother Ellin, is the latest addition to the exhibit. Zoo officials report that the joey is healthy and developing normally, spending most of its time nursing and sleeping in the pouch.
