Soocas Neos II Ultra: Electric Toothbrush & Water Flosser Combo Review
Soocas Neos II Ultra: Toothbrush & Water Flosser Combo

Now that I'm in my 30s, I take oral care very seriously. From whitening strips to water flossers, I'm always on the lookout for new products that will give me my cleanest, whitest smile. What wasn't on my bingo card this year, however, was discovering the perfect two-in-one device that combines several key oral care needs in one. Dentist-approved brand Soocas offers a solution to your bathroom counter's overcrowded oral care corner. It carries the Neos II Ultra, a two-in-one water flosser and toothbrush that's completely changed how I brush my teeth. Priced at $160 on Amazon (regularly $200).

I've used a separate water flosser for a few years now, but it is just entirely too bulky for my liking. In fact, most models are even bigger than a regular toothbrush. It's pretty annoying to find room for it on my small bathroom counter and in my suitcase whenever I travel. To be honest with you, it's huge. The Neos II Ultra provides the perfect solution. The thoughtful design of this handy two-in-one device is sleek and slimmer than a traditional water flosser. And while it's still heavier and slightly bigger than your average electric toothbrush, it's not so big that it's unmanageable.

I was skeptical to try this at first because I thought that a two-in-one device might not function as well, but I've never been happier to be wrong. The 4.6-star rating it carries on Amazon further convinced me this item would be a hit before I tried it.

Intuitive and Easy to Use

Using this toothbrush is also pretty intuitive and easy. It comes with two modes: Brush + Floss and Floss. The Brush + Floss mode allows for two minutes of regular brushing before the water flosser feature kicks on. Floss mode enables brushing and water flossing at the same time. Choose between two modes for the clean you want.

As for the quality of the water flosser, this device is top-tier. It provides a quick, powerful jet stream that removes any extra debris lodged between your teeth so easily. It basically feels like a power washer for your teeth. The water tank on the back of the brush is super easy to fill and doesn't run out while you're brushing either. Most regular water flossers tend to run out of water pretty quickly, but since this is designed to provide quick bursts of water to floss, it runs out far less quickly and lasts the duration of a brushing session if you prefer brushing and water flossing at the same time.

To be honest, I found the Brush + Floss mode a little backwards. I always water floss first and then brush my teeth, but after a try or two, I figured out a pattern of use that works for me. I start with Floss mode with no toothpaste purely to water floss and then add toothpaste and go for Brush + Floss mode. This is a personal preference, really. You'll figure out what works for you if you decide to snag this, but I will share that using Floss mode with toothpaste felt like it was watering down my toothpaste too much, making it less effective. Priced at $160 on Amazon (regularly $200).

Key Specifications

A few key specs: This device comes with one Neos II Ultra base (handle), two flossing brush heads, two protective covers, one water reservoir cleaning brush, one magnetic USB-A charging cable and a conveniently slim white travel case. In terms of the brush head, the brand has three different options, including one (Ultra Soft) for sensitive teeth and gums. Each is thoughtfully crafted to provide a deep clean, but the Classic Clean and Ultra Clean brush heads are firmer than the Ultra Soft for maximum cleaning power. I have the Ultra Soft Brush Head, but I still find that it's on the harder side than what I'm used to. That said, I try to be careful not to brush too hard and irritate my gums because I've had issues with that in the past. Even when brushing lightly and carefully, though, my teeth have never felt cleaner than when I use this.

You also don't have to spend a lot of time brushing because the bristles of this toothbrush are so effective. It's really well-designed with what the brand calls DuPont Diamond Bristles to remove more plaque than your average toothbrush head. The vibrating and oscillating rounded bristle tips are also designed to reduce wear and tear on the gums. Additionally, it gets those hard-to-reach areas with ease like the back bottom teeth. I was really impressed by how well it removed plaque in that area for me because most other toothbrushes just don't get the job done.

Travel-Friendly Design

I've tried plenty of different toothbrushes at this point in my life, but this one is by far the best I've ever used. It does take a little getting used to, but the cleaning it offers is so next-level that I can't even complain. The combination of the superior water flosser and deep-cleaning toothbrush head just can't be beat. Having a device that's both a water flosser and toothbrush at the same time is also great for frequent travelers. The size and long battery life make this a must-have for travelers.

I travel a lot for work and packing a whole separate water flosser is just not it — especially when you're trying to save a little room in your suitcase. I was so excited to try this out because I knew that if I liked it, I would never go back to using a separate water flosser and toothbrush again. Spoiler alert: I did and now I've been changed forever.

Value for Money

As for the price, I know this device is an investment, retailing for $200, but I can say with confidence that it's well worth the money if any of the above things are important to you. I'm totally in love with how easy to use this device is and how expertly it cleans my teeth. As a frequent traveler who likes to consolidate as much as possible, this is also going to be game-changing for me moving forward. The toothbrush comes in a Midnight Blue color or Champagne Gold. If $200 is a bit too much to swing right now, the brand does offer an older, slightly cheaper model, the Neos II, that currently retails for $120 on Amazon. Priced at $160 on Amazon (regularly $200).
