TekniPlex Healthcare, a leader in advanced materials science for healthcare, is set to reveal significant expansions in its pharmaceutical packaging capabilities at the upcoming Pharmapack Europe 2026 exhibition. The event will take place on January 21-22 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, where the company will occupy booths 4B27 and 4B31 in Hall 4.
Enhanced Production for Multidose Vials and Ophthalmic Solutions
A key focus of the showcase will be the company's newly augmented injection blow molding capacity at its facility in Modena, Italy. This expansion supports the production of multidose vial packaging for various pharmaceutical liquids, with a particular emphasis on the growing ophthalmic market. The production occurs within ISO 8 cleanrooms, ensuring high standards of quality and sterility.
The standard bottle sizes range from 5 ml to 30 ml. Notably, TekniPlex will highlight a 10 ml squeezable container specifically engineered for Aptar Pharma's Ophthalmic Squeeze Dispenser (OSD) technology. This innovation is designed for preservative-free, multidose formulations in eyecare, addressing a specific need for patient-friendly and effective drug delivery.
Advanced Barrier Films and Laminates for Critical Protection
Demonstrating its commitment to high-barrier solutions, TekniPlex will also feature its latest line of coextruded blown films and bags manufactured at its Puurs, Belgium facility. These products are produced in ISO Class 7 cleanrooms and are constructed with up to five layers in a PE-EVOH-PE format. This design provides excellent oxygen barrier properties, crucial for pharmaceutical applications requiring enhanced protection to maintain drug efficacy and shelf life.
Furthermore, the company will spotlight its advanced barrier laminate and coated film portfolio. This includes Aclar® laminates and PFAS-free SBC PVDC-coated PVC structures. These materials offer robust moisture and oxygen barrier protection, aligning with evolving regulatory expectations and industry demands for high-performance, sustainable packaging components.
