Alberta ER Crisis: Letters Demand Action After Death

Thursday's letters to the editor focus on Alberta's ongoing emergency room crisis, sparked by a recent death in a waiting room. Readers demand immediate action from Premier Danielle Smith's government.

When Will Alberta Fix the ER Crisis?

Re. “Inquiry triggered by death in ER waiting room: AMA president, May 19”

Is Danielle Smith more interested in managing Alberta separatists or ensuring the health and welfare of Albertans? Have we become so hardened that we don't care about people dying due to lack of proper care administered at the right time?

This is a national tragedy. Canadian health care was once a model we were proud of. Our health-care professionals worked hard and cared about patients. Provincial governments mismanaged funds, leading to wastage and nepotism, with no clear direction.

How many more Albertans must die before the government fixes this? It is heartbreaking to read about these incidents repeatedly. Lives matter!

UCP Chaos Distracts from Scandals

This government has sat in the legislature for only 54 days this year, supposedly working for Albertans. Now they have retreated to their constituencies until November, leaving chaos behind. They distract from multiple scandals by meddling with libraries, clock times, bike lanes, high-speed railways, multi-coloured crosswalks, and authorized flags on buildings.

Albertans care about health care, education, and affordability, but are being pushed into a separatism agenda by this separatist government. Premier Smith and her allies have caused the largest data breach in Canadian history, putting thousands at risk of fraud, identity theft, and other crimes. This incompetence is appalling, and the regime must be held accountable and removed before it is too late.

Smith Crossed Floor as Party Leader

Saturday's cartoon once again mocked the prime minister. Readers remind the editorial cartoonist that Premier Danielle Smith not only crossed the floor but did so while leading the party she abandoned. This undermines high-quality journalism and promotes a particular political view, missing opportunities for constructive middle ground to resolve societal challenges.
