A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Toronto's Cabbagetown neighborhood on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the scene near the intersection of Parliament Street and Carlton Street at approximately 1:30 p.m. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was found unconscious and suffering from multiple traumatic injuries.
Paramedics provided immediate medical attention before transporting the individual to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition. Police have confirmed the injuries are serious but non-life-threatening as of the latest update.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. No charges have been laid at this time. Traffic investigators are examining the circumstances leading up to the collision, including vehicle speed, road conditions, and pedestrian right-of-way.
