Toronto police have announced the arrest of seven additional suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of Anthony Taylor, 28, in the Rexdale neighborhood on May 31, 2026. Six individuals from Toronto and one from Mississauga have been charged with second-degree murder.
Details of the Incident
Police responded to a report of gunfire in the Queen's Plate Drive and Rexdale Boulevard area around 8 p.m. on May 31. Upon arrival, officers found Taylor suffering from a gunshot wound inside an apartment building. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor was the city's 12th homicide victim of 2026.
Initial Arrest and Subsequent Charges
On June 1, police arrested Ernest Gyamfy, 30, of Toronto, charging him with second-degree murder. On Tuesday, investigators identified seven additional suspects and issued Canada-wide warrants for their arrest.
By Friday, all seven were in custody. The suspects include:
- Lincoln Picart, 35, of Toronto
- Kyondre Davis, 23, of Toronto
- Dejohn Marlin, 23, of Toronto
- Gideon Addae, 24, of Toronto
- Kobina Ackon, 30, of Toronto
- Daniel Addae, 23, of Toronto
- Justin Nichol, 23, of Mississauga
All are charged with second-degree murder. Additionally, Picart and Gideon Addae face charges of possession of a firearm without a license and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.
