A Vulcan County, Alberta hobby farmer has taken her crochet skills to a new level, making sweaters for her retired dairy cow Josie and a Nigerian dwarf goat. The farmer, who prefers to remain unnamed, began crocheting as a hobby but found a practical use for her creations when she noticed her animals shivering during cold Alberta winters. The sweaters are custom-fitted and made from soft, washable yarn to ensure comfort and durability. Josie, a retired dairy cow, now sports a cozy red and white striped sweater, while the Nigerian dwarf goat wears a blue and green patterned one. The farmer says the animals seem to enjoy wearing the sweaters and even pose for photos. Local residents have praised the initiative as both creative and compassionate, and some have asked for patterns to make their own. The farmer hopes to inspire others to think creatively about animal care.
