Ontario Man Charged in B.C. Human Trafficking Probe

An Ontario man has been charged with multiple human trafficking-related offences following a year-long investigation by British Columbia RCMP. The charges stem from alleged criminal activity in Metro Vancouver between January 2025 and January 2026.

Charges and Allegations

Jahail Green, 29, was charged with trafficking in persons, procuring a person to provide sexual services, receiving a material benefit from trafficking, receiving a material benefit from sexual services, advertising sexual services, and assault. The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the charges on May 11, 2026.

RCMP allege that the offences occurred in the Lower Mainland, which includes Vancouver, Surrey, and surrounding municipalities. The investigation by B.C.'s anti-human trafficking unit began in May 2025 and involved identifying suspects, gathering evidence, and supporting victims.

Arrest and Release

In May 2026, members of the B.C. counter human trafficking unit, along with RCMP officers in B.C. and Ontario, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of B.C., the Toronto Police Service, and Durham Regional Police Service, searched a residence in Vaughan, Ontario, and arrested Green. He has since been released on conditions pending his next court appearance.

Insp. Lyndsay O'Ruairc of the anti-human trafficking unit stated, “This case is a reminder that offenders cannot hide in another province and expect to avoid detection.”

RCMP are urging anyone with information about this case or potential human trafficking situations to contact their local police. The investigation remains ongoing.
