Gatineau police announced on Sunday that a 21-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 39-year-old woman at a Main Street establishment on April 23.

Suspect Charged with Second-Degree Murder

According to a police statement, Bradley Girard, 21, was taken into custody on Saturday shortly after 7:15 p.m. and has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Justine Larche. The arrest occurred in the small Laurentian town of Nominingue, approximately 200 kilometres north of Gatineau, with assistance from the Sûreté du Québec.

Girard was transported to the Mont-Laurier police station for interrogation and remains in custody. He was scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.
