Carville Embraces 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' in Rant

Democratic strategist James Carville unleashed a blistering, profanity-laced attack on former President Donald Trump during a recent appearance, directly addressing accusations that he suffers from what critics call "Trump Derangement Syndrome." While not a recognized medical condition, the term has become a common insult among Trump supporters toward those they perceive as irrationally opposed to the former president.

Carville's Defiant Embrace of the Label

In a video recorded for Politicon, Carville defiantly embraced the characterization. "You're right! I got Trump Derangement Syndrome — I hate the motherfucker," Carville declared without hesitation. He then took his acceptance further, stating, "And you know what? I don't want to get rid of it. I don't want to get better, I want to get worse. I want to hate him more."

Carville continued with theatrical fervor, adding, "I pray to God in heaven. God rain the righteous rain of Trump Derangement Syndrome on me. Pray for me, Lord. I'm your vessel on this earth. Pray for the people that listen to this. We want more. We want to hate the son of a bitch so much that we can't see straight."

Criticism of Media Fairness and Trump's Policies

The longtime Democratic operative expressed frustration with what he sees as excessive fairness toward Trump in media coverage, specifically mentioning commentator Stephen A. Smith. "In other words, in these people's minds, they have just been born with a reflex idea of fairness," Carville explained before mimicking such perspectives: "'And yeah we can talk to people like Carville but they look at Trump and they just won't give the guy credit for anything.'"

Carville then directed his anger toward Trump personally, stating, "And look, you fat fuck Trump, if you listen to this, you listen good, because what I'm getting ready to say is what a lot of people in this country [feel] who I speak for — and I speak for a lot of fucking people. You hear me, you fat asshole?"

Longstanding Opposition and Specific Grievances

Carville has been a vocal critic of Trump for over a decade, warning before the 2016 election about the dangers of a Trump presidency and expressing fear about a potential second term in 2024. During his rant, he listed specific grievances, criticizing Trump's cabinet appointments and policies.

"He's invading people with no authorization, he's got the most incompetent fucking buffoons [in his cabinet]," Carville asserted. He questioned why Trump should receive credit for firing former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem when Trump was responsible for hiring her initially.

Carville also targeted other Trump administration figures, including Attorney General Pam Bondi, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, whom he called a "tin-horn drugstore cowboy" and an "asshole."

Concluding with Theatrical Prayer

The strategist concluded his tirade by returning to his prayer theme, saying, "Pray for all of us, Lord. Pray for James. Pray for James' friends." He added criticism of Trump's foreign policy, stating, "Pray for people who are paying more for gas for some idiotic fucking war that he never even told us why we're there. He still doesn't know why the fuck we're there. I guess we're there to bomb girls schools because that's going to make them like us more."

Throughout his appearance, Carville blended genuine frustration with theatrical performance, creating a memorable political commentary that highlights the intense polarization surrounding Donald Trump in American politics.
