Human Remains Found in Regina's North Central Area

An investigation is underway in Regina after the discovery of what appeared to be human remains in the city's North Central neighbourhood, according to the Regina Police Service (RPS).

In a news release issued Wednesday, RPS stated that officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Retallack Street on June 9 at approximately 4:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they located what appeared to be human remains outside a residence.

Additional officers from the RPS Major Crimes and Forensic Identification units were called to the scene, and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service was notified, the release said.

The death is considered suspicious, but at this early stage of the investigation, no further details will be released to the public, police said.

The RPS emphasized that this investigation is not connected to another ongoing probe into the disappearance of a 35-year-old woman, which was announced earlier this week.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact RPS at 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
