A Kitchener man is facing multiple charges after allegedly ramming his vehicle into his former partner's home in Hanover and then throwing a stone at a police officer.

Hanover police responded to a disturbance call late Monday evening at a residence on 10th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle that had crashed into the front of the home, causing significant damage to the structure.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Michael Turner of Kitchener, allegedly fled the scene on foot but was located nearby a short time later. When police attempted to apprehend him, Turner reportedly picked up a stone and threw it at an officer, narrowly missing his head.
Charges Laid
Turner has been charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Mischief over $5,000
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Fail to remain at the scene of an accident
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing. The former partner and her children, who were inside the home at the time of the crash, were not physically injured but were shaken by the incident.
Community Response
Residents in the quiet Hanover neighborhood expressed shock at the violent outburst. “It's terrifying to think something like this could happen here,” said neighbor Sarah Jenkins. “We’re just glad no one was hurt.”
