Natalie Harp: Trump's Most Devoted Aide with a Portable Printer
Natalie Harp: Trump's Most Devoted Aide

Harp's Role in Trump's Second Administration

Natalie Harp, a former right-wing cable news host in her 30s, has emerged as President Donald Trump's most devoted aide, trailing him with a portable printer and unwavering adoration. According to Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan's book Regime Change, Harp has been a constant presence, using a laptop to search for information that confirms Trump's preexisting convictions rather than objective facts.

Last year, during a meeting with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Trump demanded the "real numbers" on tariffs imposed by India and China. When Lutnick insisted the data came from accurate government sources, Trump reportedly ordered: "Natalie, give me the real numbers. Do your Google, do your computer thing, and get me the real numbers." The authors noted that "Harp, despite her best efforts, was not finding the numbers that didn't exist."

Unwavering Devotion

Trump has told staff that Harp is the only one who loves him as much as his wife and children, often saying: "All of you will go off and make money. She'll never leave me." Harp's dedication includes writing letters with phrases like "You are all that matters to me" and "I don't ever want to let you down." Another letter expressed her desire to talk about "everything and nothing."

This devotion alarmed even Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who reportedly asked herself "Where am I?" Harp earned the nickname "the human printer" for keeping Trump supplied with printed positive headlines and social media posts, given his preference for reading physical pages. This curated information may give him a distorted view of reality.

Harp's Influence on Trump's Actions

According to the book, Trump's "main inputs" were "Fox News, which was far more pro-Israel than the MAGA conversation on social media, and whatever snippets of information Natalie Harp printed out and brought him." Harp typically holds the phone Trump uses to post on Truth Social, often typing the posts herself. She showed Trump a video of Charlie Kirk's death in September during a campus debate, and ensured Haberman and Swan received an essay by a golf caddy praising Trump's power—a document that compared him favorably to history's brutal leaders like Hitler, Mao, Stalin, and Genghis Khan. Trump later referenced this essay when asked about his power in the second term.

Harp's Role in White House Renovations

Harp also encourages Trump's redecoration sprees. One morning, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt found Trump using superglue to attach gold decorations to the Oval Office marble fireplace mantel. When White House residence staff gave muted responses to the display, Harp "would gush with delight."

According to Michael Wolff's All Or Nothing, Harp's relationship with Trump even made the Secret Service uncomfortable. She was considered "a potential danger to herself as well as to the president," but no one wanted to confront Trump about it.
