Rubio DJs at Wedding as Trump Rejects Iran Peace Offer

Secretary of State Marco Rubio was caught on camera pretending to DJ at a wedding on Saturday, as President Donald Trump indicated he would likely reject Iran's latest proposal to end the ongoing conflict. The video, posted by White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino on X, shows Rubio behind the DJ equipment, holding headphones to his ear while the actual DJ appears to guide him.

The clip features the DJ clapping along to the song "Shiver" by John Summit & Hayla before leaving the stage, leaving Rubio alone as a group of men dance to the music. Rubio pumps his right hand in the air but does not appear to touch the equipment. Scavino captioned the post: "MOMENTS AGO, BEHIND THE SCENES—Our Great Secretary of State @MarcoRubio DJ’s weddings too! Here he is in action tonight at a family wedding…Let’s goooooo!!!???"

The video emerged hours after Trump wrote on Truth Social that he was reviewing Iran's new proposal to end the war, adding, "I can't imagine that it would be acceptable." Rubio had previously described Tehran's negotiating team as "very good" and "very experienced" in a Fox News interview.

The president's estimated $25 billion war, now over two months old, has reached historic disapproval levels comparable to the Iraq and Vietnam wars, according to a Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll. Gas prices average $4.44 per gallon nationally, and KPMG chief economist Diane Swonk predicted on ABC's "This Week" that prices could "easily break" records set in 2022.

Social media users criticized Rubio's video. One user wrote, "Mind-bending sign of the times that in the depths of a massively unpopular war with no end in sight, the White House is willingly posting videos of the Secretary of State fist-pumping while doing a DJ set at a wedding." Another commented, "Gas is approaching $5 a gallon in the U.S., largest energy crisis in history, and this is what the U.S. Secretary of State is up to. Unserious person." Others noted the contrast between the frivolity and the serious issues facing the country.
