An investigation is underway in Saskatoon after the body of an unidentified man was recovered from the South Saskatchewan River on Friday morning.
Police Respond to Discovery
According to a media release from the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS), officers were dispatched to the area of Sturgeon Drive and Spadina Crescent East, near the River Heights neighbourhood, at approximately 9 a.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, they located the body of a man.
The SPS major crimes unit and missing persons unit have been assigned to the case and are working diligently to identify the deceased individual. No additional details about the man, including his age or any potential cause of death, have been released at this time.
