Teen Girl Charged with Threats Using Fake Gun in North Bay

A 15-year-old girl in North Bay, who was already subject to release conditions from previous charges, has been arrested and charged after allegedly firing a replica handgun and making threats, according to police.

Incident Details

North Bay Police Service responded to a call on Tuesday afternoon regarding a disturbance in the 300 block of McIntyre Street East. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female teen had allegedly displayed and fired a replica handgun while making threats toward individuals at the location.

The replica weapon was later recovered by police. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Charges and Legal Status

The teen faces multiple charges, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, and breach of release conditions. She was already under a release order from previous charges at the time of the alleged offence.

She was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in bail court. Her name cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police Response

Police are reminding the public that replica firearms, while not capable of firing live ammunition, can cause significant alarm and are treated seriously under the Criminal Code. “Incidents involving replica firearms can escalate quickly and cause fear in the community,” said North Bay Police Service in a statement. “We urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward.”
