Trump: 'Dumb' Ends With a B, Unveils 'Dumocrat' Insult

President Donald Trump over the weekend claimed that most people do not know how to spell the word 'dumb,' as he explained his latest political insult. During a Fox News interview, Trump revealed that he now refers to Democrats as 'Dumocrats.'

'I take the b off because most people don't know that dumb ends with a b but most people don't know,' the president insisted. 'I switch the e with a u and you have a Dumocrat.'

Trump told daughter-in-law Lara Trump that the inspiration came from watching House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.). 'He's a dumb person, and I said, he's really dumb, I said wait a minute, he's a Democrat! So I think it works,' Trump said.

Trump expressed uncertainty whether the word would gain as much traction as some of his other insults. Nevertheless, he has been actively promoting it, using the term both in speech and on social media. After the interview aired, he posted multiple messages on Truth Social, including one on Sunday evening.

Critics on social media were unimpressed by the presidential spelling lesson. Many mocked Trump's claim that most people are unaware of the silent 'b' in 'dumb.' One user remarked, 'We live in dumb times.' Another wrote, 'People who aren't dumb know this.'

A commenter noted, 'It's him. Most people is just him. Truly the dumBest president ever.' Another quipped, 'The B in dumb has been silent for centuries but Trump just gave it a speaking role.'

Some expressed concern about the president's intellectual curiosity. 'It's honestly scary that he thinks this is surprising knowledge,' one person tweeted. Another added, 'This is the very definition of how stupid this man actually is. A man fascinated that there is a b at the end of dumb, has the fate of this planet in his hands.'

Many users speculated that Trump had only recently learned the spelling. 'You know @realDonaldTrump just learned this,' one tweet read. Another said, 'The President of the United States is overtly proud of a kindergarten insult and newfound knowledge about silent letters. Let that sink in.'

Comparisons were drawn to how the public would react if President Joe Biden made a similar comment. 'How would you fuckers react if Joe bragged about knowing how to spell the word dumb?' one user asked.

Trump's new insult comes as he continues to engage in name-calling against political opponents, a tactic he has employed throughout his political career.
