President Donald Trump on Thursday responded to reports that his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., could potentially host a revived version of the business reality television show, The Apprentice.

During a press briefing, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked Trump about the speculation that Amazon is considering rebooting the series that originally catapulted Trump into the national spotlight.

"Well, well, I've been hearing it," Trump acknowledged, before reflecting on the original show's success. "Look, we had a great success — 14 seasons — and 'The Apprentice' was a tremendous success."

Turning to the possibility of his son taking over the hosting duties, Trump added: "So, I've been hearing that, you know, a little bit, so we'll see what happens. He's a good guy. He's probably good. He's got a little charisma going. You need a little charisma for that sucker swing. So we'll see what happens. Yeah, they told me about it. We'll see."

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week that Amazon is considering Trump Jr., who appeared on the original series, as a potential host. However, it remains unclear how much he knows about the plans, which are said to be in the early stages.

The report has sparked accusations that Amazon and its founder, Jeff Bezos, are once again cozying up to the Trump administration, following inauguration-related donations and a documentary about first lady Melania Trump.
