Nova Scotia RCMP arrested a Halifax woman after she allegedly engaged in stunting and fled from police in Antigonish County. The incident occurred on June 25, 2026, when officers attempted to stop a vehicle for erratic driving on Highway 104.
Details of the incident
According to RCMP, the driver refused to stop and accelerated to speeds exceeding 150 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. The pursuit continued for several kilometers before the vehicle was safely stopped using a spike belt near the town of Antigonish. The driver, a 28-year-old woman from Halifax, was taken into custody without further incident.
Charges and legal consequences
The woman faces charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, and stunting under the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act. Stunting carries a minimum fine of $2,458 and a seven-day license suspension under provincial regulations. She is scheduled to appear in court in Antigonish on August 12, 2026.
